Diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) belongs to phthalate group, and is a dialkyl or aryl/alkyl diesters of phthalic acid. It is mostly used as a plasticizer in manufacturing polymers and other consumer products.

DIDP was used as reference material for viscometry, to study temperature and pressure requirement in esters 2-ethylhexyl benzoate (EHB), bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), and the long-chain hydrocarbon 2, 6, 10, 15, 19, 23-hexamethyltetracosane (squalane, C30H62) viscosity.
